The Vision I Had for 2015

Updated: Feb 8

As we move through the holiday season and the year comes to an end, I look back at 2015 and am so grateful for how incredible it was. I accomplished a lot and it was extremely abundant, but it didn't happen overnight or by chance or luck. It was a journey that started a few years ago, and I wanted to share it to where I am today so you can think about what you want to accomplish or change in this upcoming year. A little over two years ago, my life was very different than it is today. From the outside, it looked just fine. I had a great job, wonderful friends, lived in a nice place, and was dating and having fun. But I wasn't satisfied. Admittedly, I wasn't happy. Because I knew there was more to life than "just fine." I wanted EXTRAORDINARY. I was ready to make some big changes and take my life and career to the next level. I hired my own life coach and started to work on myself in a way I never have before. For the first time ever, I was able to look at my life with complete clarity and take the necessary steps toward achieving my hopes and dreams. It was like I unlocked my own secret weapon to create the success I wanted. 2014 was a year of TRANSITION. I moved to a different city; a new relationship was blossoming, and I traveled more than ever. I also continued the mental process of how I wanted to transform my life. Most of this process lived in my head, and I spent my spare time reading, researching, and thinking. Looking back, I realize I was further developing my vision. As 2015 approached, I knew what kind of year it needed to be – moving from ideas in my head to things taking shape. It needed to be a year of ACTION. Here's a quick recap of my 2015: 1. I grew my career and income to the next level. I made the difficult decision to leave a company where I was comfortable and had lots of friends. Not an easy choice to make because I had several fears in taking a bigger role at a new company: of failure, not fitting in, and not liking it. But I took the leap anyway. Why? Because I've learned something: without new challenges we don't grow. And deep down I knew that no matter how comfortable I was it was time to grow. I was also ready to up my game with my position and income. And when we want things we never had before, we have to do things we've never done before. 2. I moved into my dream apartment in my favorite NYC neighborhood with my boyfriend – and it's AWESOME! A few years ago when I began to work on myself, I envisioned a lot of things. A beautiful living space was one of them. And more importantly, a meaningful, healthy, amazing relationship was another. Today, I wake up every day to the man I love in an apartment I always had in my mind as my ideal place to live. Added bonus – it's in my favorite NYC neighborhood. If you asked me a few years ago if you thought I'd have any of this, my answer would have beenabsolutely not. But when you have a vision and take the steps toward it,you can absolutely have it. 3. I went back to school and got my coaching certification. For a long time, I was debating on whether or not I'd enroll in the NYU Coaching program. So many things were getting in the way of making this decision, like wondering if I'd have the time, if the financial investment was worth it, if I'd enjoy it, or if I would even make a great coach for others. Once I quieted my mind, I listened to my heart and what it was telling me to do. I enrolled in the program, and deep down I knew that this education and training would benefit my life and that I was worth the financial investment. I know I made the right decision because I've already impacted people's lives for the better! 4. I paid off ALL my debt, saved thousands of dollars, and earn more money than ever before. A few years ago when I hired my coach, I was living paycheck to paycheck and had ZERO savings. I had credit card and student loan debt too. I hired her anyway, because while I didn't have that money laying around, I knew that taking my life from ho-hum to AWESOME was worth the investment and that it would cost me more in the long run to NOT hire her. This year, I paid off all my debt and saved thousands of dollars. It took a lot discipline, but I did it. I'm ending the year in the healthiest financial state ever. Added bonus – I'm earning a lot more money than ever before. I'm so glad I made that investment in myself a few years ago and hired a coach. Clearly, the investment paid off in more ways than I can count. When you put your mind to something and have the right plan and support, anything is possible! 5. I started a business that improves the lives of others. I fulfilled a life-long dream of being a business owner and launched my coaching practice. I'm gonna be real here – I had no idea what I was doing in terms of being a business owner. I've never started a business, and while I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit, I was really clueless on the business side of it all. I didn't care and didn't let this stop me. My passion to help others fueled me to move forward regardless. I've also tapped into the right folks to help me and have invested in the necessary resources. The fact that I've already helped others achieve their goals is my greatest reward. I really do believe that what you put in, you will get out. 2015 was an amazing year. I can boldly say that I've truly learned how to master my relationships and my life. It all starts with a vision. And it doesn't stop there – 2016 I will continue focusing on my vision and my mastery, and I invite you to be a part of it.
